
Join us on a Pilgrimage through the monastic brewing tradition of Bavaria. Where ancient monasteries and the art of brewing have intertwined for nearly a thousand years. This journey leads you through the Bavarian Alps, charming villages, baraque abbeys, and rustic bier halls where monks perfected the golden craft long before modern breweries were born. We will hike to the highest elevation brewery in Germany and enjoy lunch at the oldest brewery in the world. Enjoying amazing biers from Helles to Dunkel, Pilsners to Weisse, Keller biers to Damf bier. We will Finish our trip with 2 nights in the city of Munich exploring the historic bier halls.This trip will leave you with a deeper appreciation of Bavaria's cultural soul, where brewing is both an art and an act of devotion.

After our overnight flight to Minich we will drive 1 hour to Klosterbraustuberl Reutberg founded in 1618. We will visit the Monastery church and enjoy a hearty German welcome lunch. After lunch we will drive 1 hour to the village of Mittenwald a storybook alpine town with houses adorned with colorful murals and traditional wooden balconies decked out with flowers.The village sits below one of the iconic Bavarian peaks the Karwendel.There is opportunity to hike and explore the town before we go to the Brauereigaststatte Postkeller were we will drink their keller bier direct from the cellars.

After breakfast we will head to Oberammergau were we will head out on a 3 mile hike to Kloster Ettal est. 1330. Here we will visit the basilica, the dairy shop for their cheese and amazing butter, and of course their biers at Ludwig her Bayer Braustuerl. We will then hike back to the van and head to Oberstdorf 1.5 hours for Damfbier (steam beer) an all malt bier fermented at warm temperatures with a weirs bier yeast. We will stop at Neuschwanstein castle en route.

This morning we will head out to hike to Enzianhutte (Gentian hut) The highest brewery in Germany at at 5919 feet. Here we will enjoy the biers of Hausbrauerei Gipfelstumer "summiteer". They brew a Helles, Dunkel, Weiss and an unfiltered Zwickel. We will then return to the Van and drive 1 hour to Irseer Klosterbrau founded in 1185 were we will visit the baroque style church of Peter and Paul with a pulpit the shape of a ship's prow with mast, rigging, sails and putti as sailors. Their signature bier is the unfiltered Kloster-Urtruck. They also brew a Helles, Kloster-Urdunkel, Kloster-Starkbier and a Weisse.

Today we will head to Bavaria's Holy mountain,: Kloster Andechs founded 1130 One of the most beautiful settings and one of the finest biers in Germany. After we will then drive one hour to Kloster Scheyern (Vertriebs) 1077 the third oldest monastery in Germany. Here we will try the Schyrengold, a cloudy country bier brewed by the rules of "solar beer"

Today we will head to the oldest brewery in the world Weihenstephan established in 725 and started brewing in 1040. After lunch we will drop the Van off and take the train to Munich were we will explore the many historic bier halls.

Today we will explore more of Munich and enjoy a farewell dinner at one of our favorite bier Kellers.
