Itinerary:

Saturday and Sunday:

Begin your adventure in Prague, a city where beer flows as freely as the Vltava River. Wander through cobbled lanes lined with historic pubs, from the legendary U Fleků to new-wave craft spots like Dva Kohouti. Visit the Czech Beer Museum, sample unfiltered lagers straight from the tank, and soak up the timeless atmosphere that makes Prague one of the world’s great beer capitals.

Monday:

Journey to Žatec, the cradle of the world-famous Saaz hops. Visit the Hop and Beer Temple (Chrám Chmele a Piva) and stroll through hop fields that have shaped Czech brewing for centuries. Don’t miss the Žatec Brewery and its crisp pale lagers that capture the essence of Czech hops in every drop.

Tuesday:

No beer pilgrimage is complete without Plzeň, home of Pilsner Urquell, the world’s first golden lager. Take a guided tour through the original brewery cellars, taste unpasteurized Pilsner drawn straight from oak barrels, and learn how this revolutionary beer changed brewing forever.

Wednesday:

Continue south to České Budějovice, birthplace of Budweiser Budvar, the original Budweiser. Visit the Budvar Brewery, where time-honored lagering techniques and pure artesian water create one of the Czech Republic’s finest beers. Then, wander the elegant town square for a perfect pairing of architecture and a fresh golden lager.

Thursday:

Next is the the storybook town of Český Krumlov, where medieval charm meets modern brewing. Visit the Krumlov Brewery, perched below the castle walls, and sip their smooth dark lager by the Vltava River. It’s the perfect toast to a journey steeped in history, hops, and heartfelt craftsmanship.

Friday:

Next, travel to Želiv Monastery, where monks have brewed beer since the 14th century. Here, faith and fermentation meet in harmony—sample their Želivský Klášterní Speciál, a monastic brew rich with history and flavor. The serene Gothic setting makes each sip a spiritual experience.

Saturday:

Head north to Pivovar Lobeč, a beautifully restored 500-year-old brewery nestled in a picturesque valley. Once abandoned, it’s now a symbol of Czech brewing rebirth, producing small-batch beers rooted in tradition and terroir. Enjoy a tasting in the brewery courtyard and chat with the passionate brewers who revived this national treasure. Here we will either head back to Prague for 1 night or stay and head to airport on Sunday.

Sunday:

Depart for home.
